About Rocket

ISO a foster home or forever home in Delaware for my big ole boy, Rocket. Rocket was passed through 5 other homes within the first 14 months of his life. I am his 6th home and I truly believed I would be his forever home. He had trust issues in the beginning because of being abused. As a puppy, he did nip someone but didn't draw blood. Because of this, animal control says he has a bite record that I must report. I have had him for a little over 3 years and he loves playing with my 10 year old grandson, however, he was not trusting of him in at first. So I still don't know how he is with children in general. Rocket does love people, now. He has learned to trust again, even though at times he doesn't want to be touched when he is eating. I have taught him spelling, hand signals, foot signals, some colors, and names of various objects. He thinks outside the box and tries to guess what the next command will be before I say it. Part of his herding instinct. lol Rocket had comprehensive lab work done this past Jan. All tests came back negative with clean bill of health. He is not on heart worm or flea preventative meds because he is fed holistically with black walnut extract tincture, garlic, turmeric, and other herbs. I am moving and cannot have a GSD where I am going because of insurance. Rocket needs someone to do agility or herding with, or his talents are wasted. Will you be that someone? PLEASE do not be put off by the adoption fee. It is high so I know he will be truly wanted. If I could find someone to foster him for 3-6 months & allow me visitation, then I would bring the fee down considerably. If you fostered him for me, then the fee would be refundable to you when I claimed him, again. If you fell in love with him and wanted to adopt him after six months, then of course I would let you for his sake.
