About Pasha

Adoption Fee: $300.00
Golden Retriever / Belgian Tervuren
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Rescued from a kill shelter Pasha is looking for a loving home! He is Shepherd/ Retriever mix, 5-6 years old, 24.5 inches, 70 lbs, vaccinated up to date, neutered, chipped, healthy, housebroken if on a schedule and good on a leash. Can be left home alone, no damage to anything. Very friendly with dogs, but may not like a male dog, then it takes time for him to get along (in any case, Pasha does not show aggression and has never participated in fights or provoked one). There was the experience of living with cats - everything was fine, but cats and dogs were always only under the supervision of a person. VERY friendly with children! Pasha is very kind, calm, always tries to be closer to the owner even during night time. Most suitable for people who are calm and love long and slow walks. Pasha has a problem with food - he wants to eat all the time, therefore he should always be limited in food and nothing edible should be accessible for him. May behave overprotective about food and he cannot calmly look at the fact that the other dog is eating something and he is not. Pasha treats people well, but in situations where, in his opinion, something threatens his home and his family, he begins to guard. As soon as he recognizes the house as his own, then his guard qualities are turned on. If people come to the house in the special clothes , it is better to keep him on a leash- he does not like people in special clothes, as well as people with sticks in their hands and motorcyclists. On the street, Pasha guards mainly in the dark. In this case, his protective impulses are quite easily corrected by the collar and the short leash - Pasha receives a signal that everything is under control and goes calmly. He is NOT an aggressive dog, just trying to protect his owner. Pasha does not need other dogs to play, he is self-sufficient and, given the problem with food, he will be more comfortable being the only dog. He is completely human-oriented. Ideally best match with the owners who have the experience of keeping large dogs and those who know how to control Pasha's guard instincts and appreciate his defensive qualities. An application to adopt and a fee apply. We have 2 weeks trial period before an adoption is finalized.
