About Kyoto

German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Kon'nichiwa! I'm Kyoto, but you can call me Annie. I'm a 45-pound, three-year-old Shepherd mix. When my owner passed away, I became homeless, so I am still adjusting to all the recent changes in my life and feeling blessed to be in a wonderful foster home with OPH. I am beyond happy at times, and keeping my foster family smiling is part of my job. More about me: - I am one happy girl, and fiercely loyal. My tail is always a waggin, and I smile from ear to ear. My foster just laughs with joy each morning when they say hello. - I love car rides. I am so content in the car you may forget I am there! - I am great in a crate and will sleep through the night, and if you want, I have no issues with cuddling up on your bed. I am a great guest. - I have not chewed or destroyed any personal belongings of my foster family. - I love to play with other dogs! I love meeting other dogs. I like dogs. I am great with dogs. Did I mention - I am a dog kinda dog? I have played with big dogs, small dogs, old dogs and young dogs. I've played in backyards, dog parks, creeks and even inside when I can get away with it. Maybe you know someone I can play with? - Walking is the most fun. I am thrilled to get out for a walk as often as you want to take me. I enjoy a fast clip, so maybe some leash training would be a good idea if we want to learn to stroll slowly together. - I may like to chase bunnies and squirrels - we have not confirmed this. My foster says I look like I am always watching for the opportunity, but we haven't seen one yet. Oh, the joy of anticipation. - I am a smart cookie and like to learn. I have had some interaction with trainers and they confirm this - I love to learn. - I live with 3 cats in my foster home. At first they piqued my interest, but now they are just part of my family. - Prior to coming to OPH, I stayed with a foster family that had kids and they reported things went well. It is possible older kids would be good for me because I have some puppy energy bursts that might bowl over some wee ones. But, we just don't know until we meet. - New experiences and meeting new people can be a little scary sometimes, but I continue to learn and experience new things everyday so it will seem less scary. I may have had a bit of a sheltered life prior to being rescued. Learn more about Kyoto and the Operation paws for Homes adoption process at https://ophrescue.org/dogs/7405
