About Makala

Makala is a 2 yr old female Terrier mix. She may be a mix of a Canaan Dog (the face) and Rat Terrier (the size). Without DNA testing...who knows. She is 24# but she's only about 12 inches at the shoulder ...a very stout girl... :)) She is in foster in Olympia, Wa To adopt, please copy and paste this simple online application https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ Makala came into rescue pregnant unbeknownst to us and in 4 wks she gave us a gorgeous litter of pups. She was a great mama and now it's her turn to find a home. She is a very shy...she doesn't ask for a lot of affection but I see a lot of promise in her. She improves a little each day with her shyness. Her best home is a very patient home and other dogs she generally does GREAT with, must have a very secure yard and she cannot be left unattended unless eventually in the yard alone. NO apartments because she must have a yard. You could live in a condo lets say on the first floor with a small super secure fenced (with pavers or the like so she couldnt' escape) We haven't heard her bark... She does not yet understand the leash. She will need some TLC and bonding and I have complete confidence she will be good on the leash. She really is a sweet dog with lots of potential and once she bonds...that will be for good. She gets along with other dogs. I wouldn't put her with ANY children under 12...and even then the older child will have to be gentle...no running and screaming around her. This may change as she becomes confident and is bonded. Makala is spayed, vaccinated (including Rabies), dewormed, flea & tick prevention, heart worm prevention (Neg test), microchipped, health certificate for traveling, Adoption will include 6 mos of heart worm prevention and a GPS tag for her collar.
