About Ruby

Adoption Fee: $299
Poodle / Bichon Frise
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Name: Ruby Sex: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Bichon Frise / Mixed (long coat) Weight: 28 lbs estimate Height: 15 in Estimated Birthdate: 6/15/2011 Fence Needed: Preferred for potty reasons as Ruby has not mastered the skill of pottying on leash and may have accidents without a secure area to relieve herself in. Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$299 Date into Rescue: 6/12/2019 Reason for being in rescue: Ruby and Dusty had been outside dogs roaming a 35 acre farm. This family cared very much for these dogs but felt strongly that all dogs should be allowed to roam the country and not be confined. Then the new neighbors moved in. The neighbors took offense at two dogs showing up to say hi and the owners tried electric shock /invisible fence and that did not work. Then they tried a pen and that did not work either so the dogs came to us as neighbors threatened animal control. Special Needs: none noted What kind of home would be best for me: Ruby is looking for a family who will bring her in and shower her with love and affection. She has been an outside dog far too long. She would love a home with her BFF Dusty if you would consider two. What is my personality like: She is a sweet heart! Ruby has one heart's desire - she wants to be with someone. She does not want to be an outside dog. She is not a farm dog! She is a family dog- and a family is what she wants. She walks well on leash and enjoys her leash walks. However, she does not know how to potty on a leash yet. That was a main complaint from her previous family and one of the reasons they did not bring her inside when trouble started. Ruby right now does not pay attention to toys. She only wants your attention. She loves to be on your lap and gives kisses. She knows how to sit, and when you ask her to lay down she rolls over. It is the cutest thing! She is sweet and gentle. I cannot imagine why anyone would not want this girl in their home and sitting next to them on the couch. How do I act when I first meet new people: Every time you see Ruby, she perks up, wags her and comes over for love and attention. She thinks people are very cool. Tips and Tidbits: Ruby does great with kids. She will need professional grooming and does okay with grooming. She rides well in a car. She's a great dog. House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
