Name: Goliath Sex: Male Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Giant Schnauzer / Chesapeake Bay Retriever / Mixed (long coat) Weight: Estimated 100 lbs Height: Estimated 26-28in Estimated Birthdate: 4/10/2017 Fence Needed: Yes, a 6 ft fence. Location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Adoption Fee:$299 Date into Rescue: 8/3/18 adopted but returned 6/1/2019 as his new family had unexpected health challenges develop Reason for being in rescue: Goliath was surrendered by his owners. He is full of energy and was just too much dog for their lifestyle. Special Needs: none noted What kind of home would be best for me? Goliath is seeking a home with active owners that have patience for a young, large breed dog. It would be best for him to not be in a home with smaller dogs due to his size. Owner Experience Level 3: First time dog owner but has lived with a dog as an adult and participated in the dog's care What is my personality like: Goliath is a big dog with an even bigger personality! This boy does not have a shy bone in his body. We knows that he is huge, but he thinks he is an 8 lb lap dog. He is fabulous, but we can see why he can be me too much for some people due to his size and energy. Goliath loves attention almost as much as he loves playing. He still needs basic training. When walking on a leash he actually does not pull but he does cut in front of you. He is also highly treat motivated and very willing to learn basic commands. Chew toys are his favorite toys, he will chase a tennis balls but hasn't figured out the 'retrieving' part yet. Goliath would be an incredible companion for a very active family. How do I act when I first meet new people: Does not meet a stranger Tips and Tidbits: Goliath's birthday is 04/10/2017. We all know the story of David and Goliath, but this Goliath is our gentle giant that loves to snuggle! House trained: Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
