Luna is a stray picked up by Newport Animal Control and taken to their facility. She is a Great Dane / Black Lab mix. Small as, Danes go, but larger than the average dog. The only kennel Newport Animal Control had that could contain Luna was their 'vicious dog cell' and that is in a part of the building that is not air conditioned. In the mid-day heat, it becomes far too hot for anything to stay in there long. They needed another solution. So the manager, Lisa, reached out to me: would I foster her for them? We found a way to make that happen and I picked her up this morning. Luna is a laid-back and gentle girl who seems accustomed to living in a house. Preferably one with AC because of her thick, plush (oh-so-soft!) fur. She is eating again and gaining weight. Luna gets along with the 7 other dogs at our facility. She needs to settle in with a family to love. The adoption fee includes all vaccinations (including rabies), spay surgery, and microchip. Please remember to register your chip number!
