About Cricket

Australian Kelpie / Black and Tan Coonhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

CRICKET, 1.5 year old, 40-45 pound AUSTRALIAN KELPIE MIX, FEMALE....COURTESY POSTING CRICKET IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE RICHMOND VA AREA. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CRICKET, PLEASE GO TO WWW.MOMSVA.ORG AND COMPLETE AN APPLICATION. Cricket has proven herself to not only be an amazing mom, but an incredible dog all around. She has definitely lived in a home before and appreciates a soft dog bed and A/C. She has had very few accidents and has quickly adapted to her foster mom's schedule. This stunning girl (seriously, those ears!) loves nothing more than to play with her stash of toys (there is no such thing as too many or enough toys for this one). Her favorite game is fetch - she is excellent at retrieving and we're still working on 'drop it.' She is incredibly agile, smart, food motivated (already knew 'sit') and would likely excel in agility. She walks very nicely on leash and seems to get along well with other dogs. She has been introduced to a cat in her foster home and she was a bit unsure of him - interested initially (but not in an aggressive way) and honestly a little scared of him when hissed at. We know that Cricket can climb a 4-foot fence, so she should either be leash walked or enjoy a privacy fenced in yard. Cricket is estimated to be around 2 years old and currently weighs around 40 pounds. She was very underweight when she was first rescued, and she is working on gaining a few much needed pounds (nursing puppies burns a lot of calories). Now that she's perfected this mom thing, she would love the chance to just be a spoiled family member herself. Cricket would make an excellent companion for an active owner who is looking for a best friend for all of life's adventures! Cricket has been dewormed, had her first two distemper vaccines, is microchipped, and will have her spay appointment scheduled (she will also have her vaccinations completed at that time). If interested in adopting, please complete an application online at www.MOMSVA.ORG
