About Ali

Ali needs a new home. His is a 9 year old male. He is a super loving cuddle bug. I found him on the side of the road when he was a couple months old and he has been my shadow ever since. He does have special needs. When Ali was about 2 years old he broke free from my mother-in-law and was playing in the woods behind our house. Unfortunately, someone shot him in the face with a shot gun. Thank God he survived and today his scars aren't even noticeable. It has been an up hill battle ever since. This event has made my once care free puppy into a anxious dog with a healthy distrust of men. He has never bitten anyone not even sure his jaw is even strong enough to truly bite. He would probably hurt him self if he truly tried. He had a wire holding his jaw together for a couple years but eventually it was able to be removed. Since the event occurred he will growl and bark at any man. He even barks and growls at male family members when they move about the house. He doesn't even trust my husband and my husband has been there since the day we found him as a goofy little puppy. He doesn't try and chase or bite them but he will stay in his area and just bark and growl. When men aren't around he is the perfect gentleman. He loves and follows me, my mother-in-law and 2 year old daughter around. Licking our toes and trying to cuddle up and watch tv. We have tried everything and have been super patient with him but his anxiety persists and it is making him and my husband miserable at this point. It has been six years since he has been shot and at times his growling will just be a grumble and a half hearted bark but it has never gone away. At this point he is kept in his kennel most of the time to give my husband a break from his harassment. Sadly, he is in there most of the time now because my husband works from home. I love Ali with all my heart and he and my husband deserve better. He needs someone who is patient and loving. Once he trust then he will be the biggest baby. He is strong and acts like a puppy. He is potty trained, loves long walks and loves to fall asleep under your feet as your foot stool. He doesn't have any special eating requirements. I like to switch between large bites and small bites dried dog food. Just to give his jaw a rest. It's completely healed but I like to for good measure. Honestly, it doesn't matter because he inhales any food you put in front of him. Please help me find him a loving home.
