About Champ

Adoption Fee: $25
Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Champ is a 3 year old male boxer. He does need neutered. He is well behaved and house trained. He will ring bells hung on door knob to be let out. Does not chew on people or furniture. Very careful if his toys are stuck between furniture legs, etc. High energy. Loves to run. He will play fetch and catch as long as you can throw. Very food motivated. Knows how to sit and is easily trainable. Walks well on leash/harness. We have a large wooden crate that can go with him. He uses it very well. If he is in a home with no other dogs the crate may only be needed if you have to leave him indoors when it's cold or hot outside while you are gone, or not needed if you don't mind him roaming the house. Crate is not collapsible. He is used to spending most of the day outside in a fence or inside the house. Usually only sleeps in the crate. He is good with kids but is very high energy and should be supervised. He might play rough or knock kids down. Better for older kids. Likes to cuddle after he has burnt all his energy. LOVES TO PLAY! Would be perfect for a single dog/pet home. However, he and his brother continue to pick fights with each other over attention and occasionally some odd 'treat' one of them has found. Champ usually is the one to start the fight in response to my other dog 'posturing'. We do not like seeing them hurt each other and are afraid it may be serious one day if they are not seperated. Very heart broken to have to do this. We want him to go to someone who will dedicate the time he needs to expend his energy and give him more training for his high energy behaviors. We do not want to give him to anyone interested in dog fighting, or who plans to leave him tied up. He is an indoor dog.
