160 days is how long this sweet boy has been waiting for a home. Why? We have no idea. Kanye came in just a happy, friendly guy ready to play with people and dogs alike. For whatever reason, this handsome guy has been overlooked since he arrived. He has no interest at all and we have not been able to figure out why. When Kanye first got here he was always happy to see you, didn't bark much and always sat down politely when you came up to his kennel. Sadly, after 160 days he now barks at everything and tries to escape his kennel every chance he gets. Dogs aren't meant to stay in kennels for that long and it is really affecting Kanye. Kanye was about a year and a half when he arrived and now he's over 2! This long stay in the shelter has taken it's a mental and emotional toll on him and we aren't sure how much longer he can handle waiting. At this point, Kanye's dog skills have declined and he is going to need a home without dogs or a home willing to give him a week or two to decompress from the shelter before being introduced to your dogs. We do offer a foster-to-adopt where you can take Kanye home for a week or so before committing to adoption. Regardless of your homelife Kanye is going to need extra exercise and time to decompress from the stress of the shelter when he first leaves the shelter. The staff loves Kanye and we are hoping someone will step forward and save this dog from the mental anguish he is going through. Please apply online at rosscountyhumanesociety.org. Kanye's adoption fee is $79.
