About Peanut L

Meet Peanut. He is a tiny 7 year old Maltese mix who weighs in at a whopping 6.12 pounds! His owners moved away and just left him behind in the apartment! Thankfully, a woman who lived next door knew about Peanut and went and got him safe. She was unable to keep him and gave him to us to help him find a new home. So far, he is keeping pretty much to himself away from the other dogs in his foster home. He is hesitant to approach his foster family but is slowly starting to warm up to them. When he goes outside, he seems to want to stay close to the house and goes to the door when he wants to come back in. He appears to be housebroken. Peanut's foster mom says even though he is a little standoffish it seems like he wants love. He will come close to her but then back away but he is getting braver as the days go by. We think that is at least partly due to being abandoned and finding himself in an unknown place and situation. He's so cute and we hope he begins to feel comfortable soon! Welcome to rescue Peanut!
