BAILEY - 5-6 YEAR OLD MALE - GAUTENG You might recall us being contacted by Jane in January this year about a stray spaniel found in Emmarentia, Johannesburg. Since then, his foster mom Anita has been rehabilitating him. It's been a long journey, but Bailey is finally ready to find his forever home. Thanks so much for your amazing work with Bailey Anita. You've worked miracles. Let's hope we can now find Bailey his own special family. Here's Anita's own write up about him: Bailey came to us in the beginning of January 2019. We are not sure what happened to this boy, what road he took to get to us. One thing is for sure, something terrible happened to him. He is one of the most (if not the most) traumatised dogs I have ever seen. He was so fearful when he came to us. He had no emotion in his eyes and he didn't trust anyone. Our road together started with a few bites - purely because he was so fearful. I got the help of Animal communicator - Lerinda Ellis - to see if we could start breaking through this fear barrier. Bev Kinsella assisted with Bach Flower remedies. We worked on him from all angles. Slowly but surely we started seeing a small change in him. A little bit of a sparkle in the eye. His tail started wagging a bit more and the trust started to show. We had a few setbacks, but the victories far outshone them. I decided to take him hiking with my dogs (off leash @Hedianga). The first hike was one of the most beautiful moments ever. I almost started crying. The change in him was amazing. He had a smile on his face, he ran around like a puppy. His eyes were smiling - that was the thing that got me the most. He had emotion in his eyes. From that moment on, everyday just got better. We have a feeling something happened to him in a car. He is very fearful in a car. He will get in, but he will put his head down, until we get to our destination. Getting him out of the car was also a bit of a challenge - but we found a way to make it more comfortable for him. Bailey is the sweetest, most gorgeous boy you will ever meet. It just takes him a bit of time to trust. He is looking for his special place. A home where he is understood and will be given the time to become the doggie he is meant to be. He is still learning to be a real doggie - he doesn't play with toys, yet, but he is starting to show interest. Bailey will need a home that understands the breed and understands how to work with a fearful dog. He gets along with other (more submissive) dogs. He is also in a home with a cat at the moment.
