About Aubin

Adoption Fee: $335
Beagle / Lab
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Are you looking for a new best friend? A faithful companion who wants to join you for a nice walk, then curl up together on the couch? I may be your girl! I'm Aubin- a beautiful tri-colored lab/beagle mix. I'm about 4 years old (no puppy shenanigans from me!) and I weigh about 52 pounds. Take a look at my expressive eyes and my adorable little waggley stub of a tail. Can you see how much I would love you and make you smile? I will paw you to let you know I want to be petted, then lean against you for a full-body cuddle. When I hold you with my gaze, you will want to give me all your treats! Not to brag, but I am a really smart girl. I watch everything my foster mom does and I know the routine. She doesn't even need to say anything when it is time for dinner or when it's time for a walk. She just points and I go to my crate to wait for dinner. When she gets the leash, I wait by the door (after a few celebratory zoomies because I REALLY love a walk)! I also know some basic commands like sit, give paw, heel, stay. In my foster home, I am potty trained and willingly go into my crate, though I sleep gated in the kitchen at night. I walk nicely on a leash (though I have been known to try to chase squirrels at times), and ride well in the car. I am a great hiking companion. My foster mom has taken me hiking and I love it. Do you know the dogs that hate the rain? Not me. I love to walk, sniff, look around, sniff, eat grass, and sniff some more- no matter whether if it is hot, cold or raining. I love to be outside. I also love to chase a tennis ball. Do you like to throw them? I am always so proud of myself when my foster mom throws a ball up in the air and I can catch it. I enjoy a good romp outside, then when I come in, I am very mellow and content being in my bed or on the couch. I am looking for a home without small children, as I can be too exuberant for them. I would also prefer to be the only pet. I have so much love to give, I think I can provide all the love you need. I am looking for a home with a confident owner who can provide structure and routine to help me be the best dog I can be, and who understands that I do best with slow introductions to new dogs and people. Aubin is currently being fostered in Arlington, VA. Learn more about Aubin and the Operation Paws for Homes adoption process at https://ophrescue.org/dogs/5727
