Clifford is a 12 y/o intact male beagle. His family was forced into a position where they could no longer care for him. They were preparing to take him to a shelter. As a friend of the family, and fearing the potential outcome for this sweet old boy, my husband offered to foster him for a while. We had no idea at the time that he has some kind of skin condition. He is continuously itchy. He scratches and chews non-stop, until he cries and bleeds. We have done everything we possibly can to care for him, but we are limited in resources as well, and it WAS supposed to be temporary. Our friends' situation has not improved, and they see no light at the end of the tunnel, and, unfortunately, we cannot continue supporting him either. Clifford is in desperate need of a loving home, where he can get the medication and treatment he deserves. He is a very quiet, gentle and laid-back fellow. It breaks my heart that he is in this situation, and that we cannot help him more. We are in Kentucky. Is this a situation you can help with? Can you take him, or offer some suggestions? He is so sweet and affectionate, I simply can't bear the thought of him sitting in a crate for possibly months, or possibly forever. Any suggestions are welcome.
