About Franky

Rottweiler
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Franky came from a home with two children. The little girl could do anything she wanted what so ever. She would go in his crate with him and play veterinarian with him. She put her hands in his ears, mouth, looked in his eyes, lay on top of him to listen to his heart, check out his feet, etc and a Franky seemed fine with it. He never lifted his lip or have a growl or anything. The little vet is about 4 years old. Franky also lived with an 8-year-old boy, and he was ok with the boy most of the time. The boy could do things that would provoke Franky to protest. Franky is just a baby and just over a year old. He has been very reserved in foster care so far. Perhaps a bit depressed and missing his family. He was not socialized in his puppyhood. He would act up on a leash when he saw dogs so they didn't want to take any chances with him. He has made friends with a female Rottie in foster care. He hasn't engaged her to play, but likes to smell her a lot and follow her around, his first girlfriend ?? He walks well on a leash, does know all his basic command and gives paw. Crate trained and potty trained. He takes a little while to warm up and trust new people in his life. He gets scared and will retreat. When I first met Franky his previous owner walked him past me on a leash and Franky barked and lunged at me which startled me, but I have not seen anything like that since he has been with us. He is very quiet most of the time, but I have heard him howl a few times for a few minutes. Franky needs to go to a calm home. There was a lot of anger in his last home amongst the adults in the home. Not because of anything that he had done. Franky is protective of the people who cared for him. When his dad would become angry with his mom, Franky would become aggressive towards his dad (didn't bite) which upset his dad, and the reason why he was surrendered. It happened too often and Franky developed mistrust and has difficulties with most men that he meets. He was very aggressive with the male vet that has examined him and recently performed a tplo surgery on his ACL. He can be hit and miss with my husband as well. Sometimes he is ok with him and other times he will bark and lung at him. It's best that he be adopted by a woman who has experience handling dogs that show aggression, and very understanding and patient men in her life, who will help Franky work through these issues & learn to trust men.
