About Rachel

Rachel is a gorgeous kitty looking to find her forever home. Here's what her foster had to say about her: 'Rachel is a strikingly beautiful tortishell long haired Persian mix. She very much reminded me of the infamous Violet Crawley (the family matriarch) from Downton Abbey when she first arrived as a foster. Understandable given that she was abandoned by her previous owner and then turned into the shelter by the landlord. How awful and beneath her beautiful self!! However, after a few weeks of time to adjust and especially after she discovered Meow Mix Irresistibles treats, she's turned into quite the sweetheart! She would likely do best in a home without other cats, but she might tolerate an older cat who wouldn't try to get too close to her. She still has an independent spirit so she would be perfectly fine if her owner(s) were gone for work or other activities most of the day and wanted something fluffy and sweet to pet when they got home. She will happily decorate/guard a window all day! Her favorite food is Royal Canin kitten dry food (I've tried several others and she won't touch them and it's important that a cat eats!) and she has no idea what to do with canned food or cooked chicken. Sad. She's had a tough life and she's hoping to find a good family that will spoil her and give her the love and lifetime home that she needs. She might seem as ungrateful as Violet Crawley at first, but give her time to adjust to her new home on her terms and she will be putty in your hands.'
