About Traci

Traci is a Black and Tan Coonhound who weighs about 48 pounds and is about 3 years old. She found herself in a shelter in rural West Virginia and waited there for months for someone to rescue her. Traci is absolutely gorgeous and she is the life of the party! She can romp and run and play with other dogs for hours on end. Then she will take a long snooze and do it all over again. Traci can climb fences, but usually doesn't feel the need to, so she shouldn't be left outside without someone keeping an eye on her. Fortunately, she doesn't need to be outside long before getting her business done! Traci loves to play with other dogs, but doesn't always like living with them, so she needs to be fed separately from other dogs and will require a gradual introduction to her new home life with them. She sleeps in bed with her foster mom every night but it also just fine sleeping quietly in her crate, and is mostly house trained if taken out at least twice a day. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
