Hello there, my name is Lisa and it's paws-itively great to meet you! I just barely made it out of a rural kill shelter where I was slated to be put down and running out of time quick. Thankfully, my foster mom saved the day and I'm alive and ready for my forever home. I was in rough shape when I came out of the shelter, but I'm feeling healthy and excited to meet you! I am an 8-year-old, forty-five pound English Redtick Coonhound mix and my foster mom describes me as magical (she knows that's silly, but I have to agree with her). So far, I've gotten along great with my hyper foster sister and with my foster mom's kiddo. Know what else is magical? I'm house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I'm a fairly low-key dog and don't require much outside of a few walks here and there and some reassuring butt scratches. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and hold adoption events at Petsmart in Waynesboro, VA (821 Town Center Drive Waynesboro, VA 22980) every Saturday. A $175.00 adoption fee ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
