About Darla (west)

Hi, my name is DARLA - ID#A4221779. I am a spayed female, brindle American Pit Bull Terrier, and I weigh about 49 lbs. The shelter staff think I am about 3 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Jun 20, 2019 Darla is a 3 year old beautiful brindle pit who would benefit from someone adopting her and making her feel safe. She's very scared and timid in the shelter but is sweet as can be if you have some patience. She love head rubs and just needs the right human that can teach her to trust again. During her dog eval she was very hesitant but allowed all greetings and wasn't very interested in the other dogs. She would probably do fine with another dog, however separation and decompression would be required at first and then a slow dog intro after that (feel free to ask us for more information on how to do this!) Darla will need some work with the leash, as she gets a little nervous and won't always walk continuously without a little coaxing, but the positive side of that is that she doesn't pull at all and won't be tearing your arm out of the socket dragging you all over the place.
