About Molly

Our dog Molly is a 3 year old Purebred Newfoundland (with documentation). We feel that we aren't giving Molly the life she deserves, for many reasons, and would love to find a home that would be a better fit for her. We are not willing to give her to anyone, there are specific criteria we feel would be best for her. The main one being, that she needs to be the only animal. Unfortunately, a couple years ago, we had Molly on a leash walking the neighborhood when a german shepard ran from its yard and attacked her. She has since had aggression issues that continue to progress. We have tried extended aggression training and modification but have come to realize she can absolutely not be by any other animals and we have other dogs. She is territorial of food and toys. She also needs to be with her family all the time. We ended up having family members with severe allergies to her, so she has been strictly an outside dog. She is not caged in our yard and doesn't like to be inside one. She is a great dog around people, including small children (even though she gets in their face because she loves them so much!) She knows basic commands, sits before she eats, walks great on a leash but will need to use a muzzle if other dogs may be around. She doesn't like the muzzle but hasn't been trained enough with it yet. She has a soccer ball she loves, and plays with it for a bit until she won't do anything but roll over for belly rubs. She really is a good, loving dog and deserves more than what we can give her. A family with no other animals, willing to continue her training, and that will allow her to be inside and part of the family is what she needs.
