About Brittany

Brittany is a beautiful 8-9 year old Pomeranian who weighs 16 pounds. She was surrendered to us by her owner and has not really been socialized at all up to this point. She is not used to being handled much and as a result is very shy and timid when you first meet her. She loves quiet time and would prefer to be an only dog but not necessary as she gets along just fine with the other dogs in the foster home and ignores the cat. She would love for her new parents to be stay at home kind of people! She is going to need someone that can be patient with her as she comes out of her shell. She is not housebroken but is puppy pad trained. She is making progress and with a regular routine and a lot of positive reinforcement, we are confident she will get there. She hates the leash and has been a runner in the past so she must have a fenced yard. Brittany loves to be outside but should be supervised as she will dig out of a yard if left unattended. Given her shy and timid nature and lack of socialization Brittany would not be good with small children. Older children who understand how to respect her space would be fine. She is slowly learning to trust and has decided this petting stuff is pretty OK. Now she knows what positive attention is, she wants more and more of it. She is proving to be a sweet girl who wants to give love and be loved. Brittany is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative and microchipped with a lifetime registration. She requires medication (an antihistamine/steroid mix) for asthma symptoms. She is looking for a home that doesn't expect her to be perfect out of the gate and where there is plenty of love and patience to help her find her way to being the perfect pet she was always meant to be.
