About Dixie

Hi yall'' ! My name is Dixie (foster mom calls me her little southern belle). I was born approximately on 10/13/2016 and am a dainty little Whippet mix. My mom and I were brought to a shelter as strays and were so scared we hid in the back of our kennel and shivered the whole time we were there. Because we were so scared, we didn't interact with anyone and the shelter decided we were unadoptable and were set to be euthanized. Thankfully a wonderful woman pulled us on our last day and found a rescue that would take us. My mom got sick and was at the vet a very long time but then found a wonderful home. I was very scared, but my foster home has worked with me very patiently and now I'm doing much better. I am potty trained, and although still very shy, I love to cuddle and sleep in bed with my foster folks. I do well with other dogs but wouldn't mind being the only child or with a small dog friend.
