About LACEY-1 - $200

Adoption Fee: $300
Pit Bull mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

LACEY-1 was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. LACEY-1 is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, heartworm & tick disease tested negative, de-wormed, heart worm and tick disease tested negative, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 19 June 2017 and at the time of rescue in the middle of June 2019, weighed around 43.00 pounds. She is listed as an Pit Bull Mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. LACEY-1 was saved with her 3 puppies,Taylor, Spot & Holister who have been adopted and although she is doing great, she was sad and looked for them for several days after they had been adopted. LACEY-1 is a great girl, she is fun, full of life, happy, playful, active, loving, affectionate, boisterous and a good all round girl. When she first got here with her pups she was a little apprehensive, but soon settled and took on the role of surrogate mum to some other pups that was here. As the pups got adopted she did start to get a little anxious looking for them and whining, however, since she was living with lots of other dogs she soon was able to be distracted with play and fun with them and so she adapted and is now as happy as can be. When I took Lacey for her spay surgery she rode like a queen in the car and was friendly and affectionate to the vet staff. She will bark at strangers coming in, but she is in a high energy environment and dogs tend to feed of each others energy. She doesn't bark excessively and will stop when told to do so. She is a young girl and so an active lifestyle would definitely be of benefit to her. She needs a family that is familiar with the breed and understands that there is a lot of negativity towards pit-bulls and many places unfortunately do not allow the breed and people are of course quick to judge and condemn them. So we are looking for a Pro-Pit-Bull family. %BD%BD%BD'%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD She would be a great family pet, she is so much fun, so loving and gentle. She is always friendly and happy to see me or the volunteers that come occasionally come over. As with all dogs she will need basic and advanced training so that so she can learn her families rules, boundaries and expectations. She is very responsive and I feel that she will be easy and fun to train and will be eager to please. She is a gentle girl and I think would make a great family dog. Lacey-1 would be great in a family environment but as with all dogs, she must understand that she is not in charge and that rules and boundaries must be followed, she is confident and so I am sure she would push and test the boundaries. She is young, fun and would be great for an active family to take her on long walks and adventures. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. LACEY-1 is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $300. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
