About ENID

Adoption Fee: $550
Border Collie mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

ENID was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. ENID is spayed, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, heart worm and tick disease tested negative, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 6 June 2017 and at the time of rescue in the middle of June 2019, weighed around 41.00 pounds. She is listed as an Border Collie. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. When Enid first arrived at the rescue she was pretty scared and quiet, however, after a few ays her personality started to come out and her confidence grew. She has gained some weight as she was pretty skinny and shared a kennel with Gumball a young pointer mix and they were always playing and wrestling together. As dogs got adopted I closed the kennel building down and brought the dogs over to the house - Enid was a little nervous with the new dogs but after about an hour started venturing around to get to know them. She is now has happy as can be with all her friends running and playing and snuggling together. Enid is a wonderful girl and would make a great family pet, she is friendly, loving, happy, seet, affectionate. She lives with a lot of dogs and has never shown any kind of aggression or negative behaviour in any way. She is a typical Collie type dog in regards to her energy and intelligence. She does love to play and I think she would benefit from a family with another dog, or at least play dates with friends dogs so she can continue to play, chase and wrestle. Enid loves everyone she meets and has been around young children and has been very gentle. she would be a perfect addition to an active family who goes on treks and adventures and understands the importance of training, not just for obedience but to learn each others body language and mannerisms. As with all dogs she will need basic and advanced training so that so she can learn her families rules, boundaries and expectations. She is very responsive and I feel that she will be easy and fun to train and will be eager to please. She is a gentle girl and I think would be great in a family environment but as with all dogs, she must understand that she is not in charge and that rules and boundaries must be followed, she can be confident and so I am sure she would push and test the boundaries. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. ENID is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
