About ALVIN & THEO

Adoption Fee: $1000
Chihuahua mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

ALVIN was saved with his two siblings, Simon and Theo, from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. ALVIN & Theo are neutered, core vaccines, rabies, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. They have an estimated date of birth of 16 April 2019 and at the time of rescue in the middle of June 2019, weighed around 5.00 pounds. They are listed as an Chihuahua Mix. We have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. When the pups arrived at the rescue they were very scared. Simon, who was the smallest and most confident has been adopted, but Alvin and Theo are so very bonded and are fearful when they are apart. Both boys are doing much better around humans, but still can be very wary and go very quiet when they are picked up. We have decided that the brothers need to be kept together so as to not put them through anymore trauma and heartache that they have already clearly endured at such a young age. As you will see in the pictures and video's, the pups are very happy and a lot of fun, they are energetic and they love playing with their friends outside, chasing and hiding. Although they have other friends of dogs of all ages and sizes they are generally never far apart and always end up playing together. With them still being a little wary of people, they are not overly affectionate, they jump up and act as if they want to be, but when picked up they go quiet so we are looking for a family that will give them space and time to adjust and learn to trust so that they can enjoy being loved and to give love like all pups should. The boys use the dog door to go out and do their business and play, but they will not know to let you know they need to go outside, so house-training is going to be needed. As with all pups, a routine and training is 100% needed and to be taken seriously, training at home with the family is important so that both pups and humans can learn each other's body language and mannerisms. They are puppies and so there is a lot of work involved and although they are small they can still be very mischievous and will soon be teething. %BD'%BD%BD WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW HE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. ALVIN & Theo are available for adoption for an adoption fee for both boys of $1,000 Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food and anything else that is needed.
