About BAILEY

'BAILEY' (also known as 'Yeller') is a very sweet, gentle, good, 3-5 yr old, 110+ lb., Labrador Retriever male we rescued from a very high kill pound. (Bailey may be purebred, but since he was not surrendered with papers, we legally cannot claim him as such). Bailey is overweight, and presently on thyroid medication as well as anti-histamines, both which are by-products of his overweight status. We have changed his diet, reduced his caloric intake, adding supplements & he is getting exercise, all which are assisting his overall condition. Bailey-Yeller is obedient, eager to please, and very loving. He enjoys other dogs, though he would do best with another dog, preferably female, slightly closer to his age, as a companion & playmate. Bailey has never been around cats so has not been 'cat-tested'. He walks well on a leash, though as he is larger & strong, children over the age of 8 would be preferable. A gentler & slightly athletic household would be ideal. Bailey neutered, de-wormed, is current on vaccinations, on monthly heart worm preventative, crate-trained and house-trained. This rescue does not administer it's own vaccination shots. All of our rescued dogs' medical care has been administered by a licensed Veterinarian. All of our rescued dogs have been on a nutritional regime which includes high quality food and supplements (ex., pro-biotics; vitamins, etc). This is done to bolster their immune systems and overall health; the result benefits their adoptive family with a pooch who has a lustrous coat, bright shiny eyes, and happy and healthy disposition.
