About Duke

Sadly have to rehome our 18 month old Belgian malinois Duke. He needs proper training and an experienced owner of this breed. If you know this breed they have extreme energy and need a lot of space and yard to run. He is very protective and can be aggressive on the leash around strangers that he doesn't know well. So I always tell people when he is on the leash not to pet him. Off the leash is is more comfortable with new people and playful. He has lived with two kids 11yrs old and our 9 month newborn and never been aggressive with them. He does bark and growl at anyone he sees at the door or someone he doesn't know who knocks. Very protective instincts for owners and family. He is a good boy though, and we want to make sure he has a great home. Experience with this breed and/or dogs with high natural defensive/protective instincts is important. He also loves to be vocal and bark if you are not paying attention to him. He needs a lot of time, love and space. We have a 6 year old Female Terrier Mix, who he adores and loves to play with. He is double her size but Duke is submissive to her and around my families dogs, even though he is bigger than other dogs he is submissive and just wants to play with them.
