About Peanute

My Name is Peanute! I am a sweet, little girl, am about 10 years old and weigh just under 8 pounds. If you are wondering why my name is spelled with a E, it is because there is another of my fellow fosters named Peanut. This is easier for you to tell us apart. I warm up to strangers pretty easy and I am good with other small dogs. I don't know if I would get along with cats, because my foster home does not have any. I am trying to learn to use a pee pad, but sometimes forget. I do much better on a schedule in my foster home. I have had a neglectful past and due to this I have lost all my teeth, but that doesn't stop me from eating my small kibble that I love, and a soft treat like a blueberry or a piece of cheese. I went for a check up and the Vet said I have a stage 4 heart murmur and I need to be on medication for it. I like short walks and I shouldn't have too much excitement, so rough play is out. My foster Mom and Dad carry me up or down the stairs so it doesn't cause me any problems. I love to be spoiled :) I don't like being alone, so if you are home most of the time, I would love to be part of your family. I am quiet when you are next to me, or where I can see you. I even sleep in my crate next to my foster mom and dad at night. I wake up early, usually 6:30 or 7 because I need to go outside to go potty. I usually cry if my foster dad goes outside, even if my foster mom is around. I like her but I like my foster dad better. I don't know why, maybe my former owner was a man, but couldn't keep me.
