Milky Way is a little 8 lb, 1 year old Chihuahua/Terrier blend looking for a new home. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas where he was dumped with his dad and brothers. He and his family were kept in a backyard their whole lives and were rarely given any attention. The previous owners were cited for having too many dogs, so they packed up the family in a box and took them to the nearest shelter and told them to put them to sleep. The shelter reached out to any rescue that would take them, and no one came forward. They finally caught a break only hours before they were to be put down and were finally given a chance. We were asked by the local rescue to help them find homes here in Colorado. After 2-3 weeks of being in a shelter, being scared, and being alone; they finally arrived in Colorado. Milky Way and his brothers ran all over the backyard for an hour straight, just happy to be free. He would like to find a home with a lot of love and patience. Milky Way gets along with other dogs and loves to play. He is still a little timid, but likes treats and will warm up with a little help from his human. He is going to be a very loyal little guy and would make a great companion dog. He just needs to find the right family that will come and meet him!! He hopes there is someone out there that will open their home and hearts to him. If you would like to meet Milky Way please fill out an application at www.lowridersofthewest.org We require the application, home and reference check and meet and greet with current pets and/or children in the home. Milky Way's adoption fee is $325.00 - He is neutered, up to date on all his vaccinations and chipped.
