About Petunia

I'm a flower looking for a place to bloom. Life hasn't always been easy but I'm a survivor. When I was rescued, my fur was matted and I was scared but my rescuers saw the beautiful flower ready to bloom. They named me Petunia and, after a hair cut and lots of TLC, I started to show just how beautiful I am inside and out. It's starting to grow back in nicely! I don't really shed but I will need to be brushed and groomed. Being that I am Heartw orm Positive from my life on the streets I'll be starting my treatment very soon and will need to be in a very calm environment for 60 days. I need to go to someone that lives local so I can finish my treatment with them. I seem shy at the adoption center because it's a bit overwhelming. I'm a quiet, reserved girl who loves to be near her people. I have excellent house manners-doing my business outside and not getting into anything. I get along with the dogs and cats in my foster home. I'm not much of a player but I do cuddle up with the doggy friends in the evening. I would be perfectly content as an only dog or in a home with another animal. I'm ok with kids but would prefer they were older or maybe just one kiddo if they are young. I'm a chill girl who will adore her people. Give me cuddles and soft treats and I'm perfectly happy. I'm good out on walks and meeting new people who come to my foster home (so far the pizza guy is my fav). Overall I'm pretty low maintenance. Petunia is a female Poodle mix who is approximately 1 1/2 years old (est DOB 12/2017) and weighs 10 lbs. PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month time frame it takes to get them fully vetted and altered. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for ADULT dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. Also, our puppies can only be adopted to the immediate Houston vicinity as it takes 4 months to get them completely vetted at our vet here in Houston. We will not allow our dogs/puppies to be adopted out of the area without being spayed/neutered. We spay/neuter puppies at 4 months old. SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
