About URGENT - MAX

A5272355 Max is a 1-year-old black and white neutered male Pit Bull puppy who came to the Baldwin Animal Care Center as a stray on April 21st. It's heartbreaking to see a baby that already has tremendous sadness in his eyes. When he's out, he follows the volunteers and the staffs around, searching for comfort and hugs. Max is in need of a loving family or Rescue to take him in. The shelter is no place for a baby (or any of the dogs��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD%BD'��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD��%BD��%BD%BD%BD%BD|.) Max doesn't seem to have much training but we know he's incredibly smart, he grasped the idea on how to sit for treats on the spot without previous knowledge. Please visit Max at kennel #121. Assessment notes: Max was at the front of the kennel when the runner approached. He licked her hand through the kennel door, then sat nicely. He was easy to leash and remove from the kennel, but still required a lot of coaxing while walking. He froze as he approached the yard and saw the other dogs, and required even more coaxing to walk up to the fence. At the fence, his ears were down, his tail was low, and his head was low. He had to be walked into the yard, and seemed to be fearful of the other dogs. He growled at the other dogs whenever they approached him, but did not escalate. He sat by the handler and solicited petting, and tried to avoid the other dogs as much as possible. Max is selective with the other dogs, and does not have a playstyle at this time.
