��%BDLONGEST LONGTIMER This little pit/Dogo de Bordeaux mix has the unfortunate title of being the shelters 'longest long timer'. Its heartbreaking that Piper came to the shelter on December 18, 2018 - that's over 180 days!! Way to long for Piper!!! 3 yr old Piper is an adventure dog. She loves people, but she is always looking for something curious to check out. Don't be surprised when you first meet her if she pounces around in delight to stretch her little legs and get in a couple zoomies. Being cooped up for 24 hours a day is very stressful for dogs (and humans- think being locked in a storage shed for 6 months ). Piper has begun to express her frustration and anxiety by jumping and spinning in her kennel. This behavior does NOT reflect her true personality. Once she is out of the kennel, she is all about adventure, her family, and fun. Piper loves booty scratches and may do this silly little dance with her hind legs, where she sometimes just falls over completely and rolls around on her back. She also loves squeaky and chew toys. Pipes likes to just chew on a toy while lying next to her favorite person getting pet. Piper is an active dog so would be best in a family out with one near you, getting a few head scratches here and there. Piper is friendly, but she definitely has an independent streak and won't be all up in your business for pets and attention.��%BD��%BDPiper was surrendered to the shelter because she injured a small dog in the home. NO small dogs or cats for Piper! She may do best as the only pet in the home, but if you have another large dog at home and are an experienced dog owner/handler, bring your dog in for an intro to meet Piper. Dog intro required!
