About Mecca (east)

This is MECCA - ID#A4238927 She is a spayed female, blue and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff thinks she is about 2 years and 2 months old, and has been at the shelter since Apr 13, 2019. Mecca had the opportunity to enjoy a day away from the shelter with one of her favorite volunteers right before the quarantine went into effect. This was a much-needed break for little miss Mecca as she isn't fond of the kennel environment and hasn't found it easy to settle in despite being there since April. The current circumstances have not helped to ease her kennel stress in any fashion. Her day foster friend learned so much about Mecca during their time together away from the shelter. First and foremost, it seemed that most of their activities together seemed all new to Mecca. From learning to get into the car, to visiting pet stores, to learning to enjoy trail walks. Most importantly, she learned that with kindness and patience, Mecca trusts her person and will follow the lead. They 'seized the day' together, taking things slow, enjoying the moments together. It became clear that Mecca's favorite hobby above all was cuddles and pets. It all boiled down to human touch, companionship and genuine friendship. Mecca needs our help today to find her way home. She is searching for a family who will be patient and understanding as she decompresses and adjusts to her new home and routine. The shelter is now a maximum capacity, and unless a home is found for Mecca very soon, she will face euthanasia.
