About Skittles

Adoption Fee: $300
Dachshund / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Meet Skittles. She is a beautiful Dachshund Chihuahua mix that was pregnant when she came into rescue. She had two beautiful little girls named Chicklet and Peeps who are now up for adoption. Since Skittles has completed her motherly duties, she is looking for a home of her own. We believe her to be a young adult (2-4) years old. She has always been a little timid but has never shown any fear aggression. She just needs time to learn to trust and be shown lots of love. She came in from a hoarding situation, which explains why she is so timid as she is not well socialized or used to people. She weighs about 14 pounds now. She is working on learning to be 100% housebroken. She is currently on a regular schedule for going outside and is making good progress. She loves to sleep in the big bed with her person. She absolutely loves belly rubs too! She would do best in a home with no young children as their noise levels and unexpected movements would frighten her, given her background and temperament. She is just a little too shy to be able to deal with the unknown and would do much better in a quieter, more adult household. Skittles is heartworm negative, up to date on her shots and microchipped with a lifetime registration. She is ready to start the next phase of her life and looking forward to a new home of her own.
