About Hemingway (west)

Hi, my name is HEMINGWAY - ID#A4248579 I am a neutered male, brown and white American Pit Bull Terrier. The shelter staff think I am about 4 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Apr 24, 2019. This big blockhead muscle dog with the crazy eyes is very strong and needs some manners and training. He jumps some like he's a big goofy puppy. Hemingway knows 'sit' and loves his humans. No young kids - he might be too strong for them. Hem struggled some with 'Happy Tail'. That's a condition where the dog is just so happy, he keeps hitting his tail against the the kennel walls until it bleeds. All healed up now, though. He pulls kind of hard on the leash simply because he is so energetic, and hasn't had enough training to do it properly. That will improve with time and patience. Hemingway plays rough, and due to his size can be a little overwhelming to other smaller dogs, but remains social and friendly. Hemingway has been at the shelter almost two months now, and if he is not adopted soon, he will face euthanasia. Please consider this happy wild man for your next furry family member.
