About Sophie

Adoption Fee: $275
Lab / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Sophie is a beautiful, gentle, extremely quiet and shy, three-year-old, 45-pound female Shepherd/Lab-mix looking for a loving guardian. Sophie was a Mexican street dog rescued by a vet student and brought to Chicago. She's nervous around humans but warms up eventually with patience and love. She loves all dogs, but absolutely adores larger male dogs. In fact, we feel very strongly that she needs a home that already has another dog. Sophie loves her crate. It's her safe place. She is housebroken as well. She'll also sit next to her foster mom on the couch. Because she is shy, she's recommended for a home with teens and adults and not small children who might scare her. She has, however, never growled or snapped at anyone. She prefers a home with a yard, but can also get accustomed to walking on leash. She's fine on leash, but sometimes is nervous about relieving herself while out on a walk. Sophie is very healthy, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped, heartworm and fecal-tested. Sohphie's adoption donation of $275 benefits the rescued pets of Pal's Place. To meet and possibly adopt Sophie, please contact [email protected] for an adoption application. She is currently being fostered in Chicago.
