About Bolo

Adoption Fee: $350.00
American Staffordshire Terrier / Boxer
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Our Bolo is a Social Media Superstar. His dramatic story touched alot of hearts, and the outpouring of support was inspiring. Seems that as a NYC city stray, Bolo was picked up by Animal Control Officers and transported to NYCACC, another homeless Bully Breed statistic. Bolo's outgoing personality earned rave behavior evaluations, and he was quickly relocated to a coveted foster home. Soon, Bolo showed symptoms of upper respiratory distress and was returned to NYCACC for treatment of pneumonia. After the worst was over, Bolo was sent to us for follow-up Vet care. Bolo rebounded like a real champ, and he has responded to our TLC, and has healed completely. Our Vet has cleared him for adoption. Bolo has the bouyant good nature that attracts Bully breed folks to these lovable high energy scamps. No other dog group has been so overbred, mishandled and maligned as the Bullies, and we are thrilled to have Bolo with us, at this young stage of his life, so that we can find his forever home. Bolo is a young, robust dog, at just 4 years old. He appears to be largely Staffordshire Terrier due to his girth and height. He is a tall, strong dog at 72 pounds, with a lean, muscular physique, and floppy half mast ears. He has a large block head, with a broad skull that suggests the Staffordshire Terrier DNA. His muscular body is brindle pattern, with white markings, and his height suggests a wee bit of Boxer influence. Bolo truly represents the best of beauty and temperament in the Staffie breed. He has charmed everyone he has met, and his professional behavior evaluations have been exemplary. Bolo would be a fantastic choice for a Bully breed lover, who is willing to continue the exercise and obedience regimen that has fostered such great behavior so far. Bolo is high energy, and needs vigorous exercise. He is having a blast this spring, hiking in the woods. We have managed to tire him out! Bolo loves to be on the go: the more action, the better. A bored, frustrated Bully will make mischief, to be sure, but in the hands of dedicated breed enthusiasts, who rejoice in their high energy companions, Bullies are Man's devoted BFFs. Bolo is an ideal choice for an active single or couple. He is extremely friendly, and good with strangers, but he would likely overpower young toddlers. We haven't had him around cats, but he loves other well mannered dogs. He loves to play with other dogs matched to him for size and energy level, and would be a great companion to another well-trained dog. Bolo has excelled at his obedience training and is extremely food motivated. He responds well to positive reinforcement training, and has learned all of his commands, so that adopters will be able to get up to speed with him quickly. He has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters will need to forgive the occasional accident that might occur as Bolo transitions to a new potty routine, in a new home. Bolo has been thoroughly vetted. He has been vaccinated for rabies, DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo and parainfluenza, coronavirus), and has been boostered as needed. He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been dewormed, and microchipped.
