About Frank

I took in Frank as a rescue over a year ago. At first he was very skiddish and skinny. After a while he was able to gain confidence, he started eating more, became comfortable enough to get up on the furniture and socialize him n general. A few months after this, he began to show signs of aggression whenever his new dog friends (my already living with me 2 pit bulls and shepherd dogs) got excited and fired up. He started turning on and fighting our other male dog (they are both fixed) every time a doorbell went off, if the smoke detector sounded, someone knocked at our door (we live in town) and even if the other dogs started barking at outside of the house sounds. After a few of these terrifying fights we decided to keep the males on a rotating schedule in which one would be in the crate while the other was out, this proved as a great success for several months until 3 weeks ago.... My husband came home from work early, all 4 dogs were out together and were playing very well together but, as soon as my husband got out of his truck the dogs started to bark, next thing I know my male Pitbull turned at went after our male Plotts, Frank. Of course, being the dog mom I am, I set care for myself aside and got in the middle to try and stop the melee. The dogs turned out to be okay, no big injuries. I, on the other hand did not fair so well, I injured 2 fingers, and my desire to rescue. So, I KNOW that Frank, I'd placed in the right home, perhaps being an only dog, would flourish and be a great Plotty BUT, I need someone with the time and desire to love him and be the great owner he needs. Whatever he went through in the past was done TO HIM, and he doesn't deserve the alternative that other places have 'suggested'.
