About Pearl

Pearl is really a chihuahua, not a fruit bat! Pearl is older- 8+ years old and she was blind when we received her. She weighs just under 5 lbs. Pearl is blind and will need to find an adopter who can keep her safe from stairs and balconies and other hazards for a little pup without vision. Pearl also has severe separation anxiety when confined in a crate or gated off in a separate room. She will paw and claw to get out to the point her paws and muzzle will be raw and bloody. She does fine when left loose in the home or she absolutely LOVES her sling and will happily sit in the sling all day. She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home, but she can get a little crabby if they get into her space too much and she will growl at them. She is very quiet in the home and does great with potty training if taken out on a routine schedule. Pearl's adoption donation of $200 helps to cover the cost of her medical care. Application, reference checks, and home visit required. Adopters must live 1.5 hours driving distance from Romeoville, IL. For more information on adopting, please email us at [email protected].
