About Sam

Sam came to us from a local animal control facility, where he ended up as a stray. He was extremely matted and stinky and just all around in poor condition. We cleaned him up, got him neutered and took care of his teeth with a dental and now he is feeling like a new man! He is a good dog, who doesn't require much attention and is pretty low maintenance. He doesn't bark much, but when he does you will be surprised at the low bark he has for a small guy. He is approximately 14 years old, but he still has quite a bit of pep to his step. He is currently on a prescription kidney diet, as his kidney values were high on his previous bloodwork. If you are considering applying for Sam, please be aware that he will need continued care for his kidneys- diet and rechecking bloodwork at a minimum, with a possibility for a need for routine fluids in the future. Adopter should also be prepared to keep up with his professional grooming about every 6-8 weeks to keep him comfortable and without mats. Sam's adoption donation of $150 will help cover some of Sam's medical expenses. Application, reference checks, and home visit required.
