About Penelope

Hello! My name is Penelope. My foster mom calls me Penny. I'm an 8-9 years young female terrier mix. We think there might be some Beagle in me. I have a hound type of bark - it sounds a little funny. I came into Puppy Pals from a shelter in another county after being picked up as a stray. The shelter had already spayed me and removed a mammary spot and I'm in excellent health now. I am doing great at my foster home. I have adjusted to the crate and am learning to be house-trained. I will go to the door and bark or ring the bells when I want to go outside. I still have accidents - I'm working on it. I love to spend time with my humans. I get along with most of the dogs here except for my foster mom's personal dog. The other ones are fine. We might have to schedule a meet and greet with any other pets in my potential new home. I'd love to be the only dog - I like being spoiled. I love to lie on the back of chairs and couches and watch TV with you. I sleep in a crate at night. I love a few treats from time to time and I know exactly where they are kept - I'm the first one in line at treat time! Although I might have some age on me, I am very active for my age. I have lots of years left in me. I'm not a senior dog who just likes to sleep all day. I see a leash and I'm ready for a walk or to go in the car. I'm ready for anything! My ideal home might be with a single person or older couple who might be home more to monitor my going outside and pottying. I will stay in a crate if you have to work. If a family would adopt me - I probably would be good with older children (8+ years old).
