About Iris

This pretty little girl is Iris. She is a 3 year old Chihuahua who was originally found as a stray, along with another dog, who turned out to be the father of the three tiny babies she gave birth to shortly afterwards. Iris weighs 8 pounds and has been a good momma to her babies. She is a happy girl who has a smile on her face all the time. She gets very excited when she sees her people and just wiggles her whole body. She literally jumps for joy when she is happy, which is a good portion of the time because she has such a sunny nature! Iris has what is known as a blue coloring, with some tan and a little bit of white. She does have Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA) in the blue areas which means her fur is less thick there. The CDA causes her skin to be sensitive too so she sometime has trouble wearing a collar as it can irritate her skin. Iris gets along fine with other dogs in the foster home but she can be jealous if she thinks others are getting more attention than she is. She is very affectionate and would sit in your lap giving you kisses all day if she could! She has not been tested with cats or small children. Iris is currently being trained to use a puppy pad since she is in the house all the time with her babies and they can't go outside until they have all their shots. Iris also sleeps with her puppies at the moment but we are sure she would want to be in the big bed at night if it was just her! She likes to be close to her person and can be shameless when it comes to demanding and showing affection!
