We adopted Mishka out of a shelter in December 2017. We have a baby and not enough time to devote to giving Mishka the regular exercise and attention he needs. He is a very typical Husky: High energy, high prey drive, and will escape if given the chance. The ideal situation for him is an active owner, who has experience with Huskies. Mishka needs 2-3 hours a day of physical exercise and mental stimulation. He is affectionate and protective over our 1-year-old. He might not be ideal for children, though, as he jumps and can knock small kids over. He is a good indoor dog, although as with any husky, if he is not entertained, he becomes destructive. He was housed with a submissive female dog and was overly aggressive with her. At dog parks, he gets along well with similarly high-energy dogs. He has been given obedience training and can perform sit, down, and come commands. He has difficulty concentrating in highly stimulating environments, so his command / recall is fair in those situations. He loves trail hiking, snow, and being in the water. He also loves to fetch balls, any toys with squeakers, belly scratches, and playing tug with his rope. Mishka is a very funny dog and has great potential for being a wonderful addition to someone's life.
