About Sadie

Will NOT be re-homed to breeders or anyone with the intent of breeding! A little background on Sadie: She would always end up in our yard after getting off her chain or wiggling out of our neighbor's fence. Naturally we would provide minimal care for her until her owner came looking for her. Well a few weeks ago her owner knocked on our door asking us to take her since she was being evicted from her home. We couldn't say no due to the fact that Sadie is a young, unfixed, special needs pit. We feared the worst that she would be used for back yard breeding or as a bait dog. Her previous owner informed us that she had Parkinson's disease causing the goofy way she walks. It seems she is more likely to have wobblers or some other neurological issue. We gave her a bath since she was covered in dirt and flees. She was given flea/tick preventatives. After having her in our home for a short time we discovered how well trained she is! We already have four senior rescues and she gets along with them wonderfully. We learned that she is crate trained and potty trained. She is relatively low energy for her age but I think that has to do with her disability. We would love to keep her but are currently renting and do not want to take on anymore dogs. Diagnosis: Cerebral Atrophy or Cerebral Birth Defect. Basically her cerebellum is small and it's either because it is slowly deteriorating or she was born with it too small. There is nothing that can be done. She is not in pain but she will either get worse or be her same wiggly goofy self forever!
