About Harper

COURTESY POST Meet Harper! She is my sweet 60 lb almost 8 year old brindle shepherd mix who needs a new child free home. She is obedient and eager to please but takes a while to warm up to strangers and would do best in a home with an experienced owner or someone who is very interested in actively working with her and learning about positive behavior training. She will repay your kindness with cuddles and make you laugh when she gets the zoomies and chases her own tail. Her favorite thing is to run off leash at the beach, dig in the sand and play in the surf. We have had her for 7 years and love her dearly but she has begun growling and snapping at our now crawling 11 month old and it's not safe for my family anymore. We just want the best for her, but we aren't the best anymore. Harper gets along with most dogs but absolutely needs a child free home. She can jump so she needs a tall fenced in yard and daily walks/runs. She is UTD on all shots as of May 2019, spayed and microchipped. Her diet is Hills Science Active Adult, which helps manage an asymptomatic liver enzyme imbalance. She comes with all her dog things (bed, crate, food ball, new bag of food, a year of heartworm meds). We will also pay for a few training sessions with a trainer of your choice to ease the transition. We are in Norfolk, VA but are willing to drive to find the right family for Harper!'
