About Brutus

Looking to re-home our beautiful 11 month Rottweiler with special needs. We are looking to re-home him in the Central Oregon area so we can help him adjust to the new living situation. A meet and greet with travel is not ideal. His trainer is also willing to help with the introduction. Brutus is very loving and sweet, but this is only with people he knows and loves. He has an issue with his head being touched by strangers. And that is what everyone wants to do, as soon as they see him. With his issue he's hard to place. It needs to be with someone who can treat him as if he is abused. He has never been, but he is distrustful. Someone who is patient and realizes he will come to trust you but it doesn't happen immediately. It could take a few weeks. While he plays great with our children we would not place him around new children, as they might like to roughhouse. He would however, do great with another dog. We've found he is way more trusting if another dog is present, he reads their queues and comfort levels. He is not hyper, and loves his naps. It's not a socialization issue. We take him everywhere and expose him to a number of different situations. We have a wonderful trainer for him who has helped his issues immensely. We've had the vet check his head and health often. We hate to give him up, he's got a great personality and is a part of our family. Unfortunately our housing plans changed and the new home has restricted breeds. Plus we think another dog would be good for him and we can't add on. He's with family right now. We would even consider a foster situation and could even take him occasionally such as camping or traveling. We would definitely want him back if any issues. Also open to any ideas and/or suggestions?
