Ollie is a 6 year old foxhound who we rescued four years ago from Ohio. He is a wonderful companion dog who enjoys lots of pets and being close to his owner. Ollie likes chasing balls and exploring outside. He is mildly tempered and enjoys sunning himself or lounging at your feet. We are heartbroken to be making this decision, but have found that Ollie does not do well with small children. We have a one and a half year old that he is fearful of and can become aggressive towards. However, with our nieces age 8 and over Ollie is calm and loves all the attention he gets from them. He is a beautiful dog, and for a hound breed his bay is heard rarely. When we first adopted him it took 2 weeks for us to hear him bark. Ollie received knee surgery in October 2017 and has made a full recovery, but sometimes limps after long walks or hikes. He is up to date on his shots, but he does have a lump on his front leg that may need removal if it continues to grow. Ollie would love a home where he can sun himself, spend time in the outdoors and spend a good amount of time with owners. Ollie does well with other dogs, has a strong prey drive, but has been in houses with cats and no issues have arisen. A few special details about Ollie, he hates thunder and fireworks, he can open doors handles with levers, and enjoys a good chew toy, or just toys. We love Ollie, and are very sad to have to make this decision.
