About Parker

Parker is an 8-9 year old male Lhasa Apsa mix. His story is a sad one. We were contacted by an individual who works at an assisted living facility. Parker's former owner had dementia and was about to move into the facility, therefore he needed somewhere to go. The employee moved Parker into her house and to see a vet. It was discovered that Parker had a rubber band around his neck. His owner likely thought it was a collar when it was placed on him. The rubber band was embedded into his flesh, leaving a painful, pus-filled, smelly infection. Treatment was started immediately and then, shortly thereafter, Parker was surrendered to our rescue. Parker has healed wonderfully. He is a new dog now that he is pain-free. Like many dogs, he needs a bit of time to warm up to new people but is very friendly and loving once he trusts you. Because of this, we will not place him in a home with young children. Parker is great with other dogs but does not like cats. Feel free to contact us if you would like an adoption application.
