About Eileen

My husband and I adopted Eileen when she was three months old through Craigslist. She lost her rear right leg when she was three days old and has no related pain or mobility issues. Unfortunately, my husband and I are working twelve hour shifts (14 hour days once the commute is added) and are unable to handle her needs. Eileen has started resource guarding us and attacking our other dog. My husband and I have both been bitten trying to stop dog fights. We have attempted to retrain her through positive reinforcement, exercise, and redirecting her energy, but she will not tolerate our other dog, Larry, receiving attention. Our other dog is now afraid of her and it has come to the point where we would be neglectful dog owners if we continue to force both dogs to cohabitate. Eileen has received training through Sit Means Sit. She knows the commands: Come, Sit, Down, Heel, Watch Me, and Place. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball and she will chase one until she's exhausted.
